running into a second issue now, at first teams could register fine, but as we get more teams registered, the site is starting to throw errors that a BRAND NEW team, with no other tourney reg's, cannot register for a tournament, due to no team available
For this and my other thread, it's the latest version of Joomla and latest Ver of all modules.

When you create a tournament, you specify the minimum number of players a team needs to have.
Only if you are the leader of a team which has enough members, then you can register it for a tournament.
So, please check and make sure that the team that is trying to register has enough members - or set the minimum number of players per team down to 1 for the tournament.

Yeah, I had set all that. turns out the problem was they hadn't registered for the event itself, so it let them make a team, but not reg for any tournaments setup for that event.
Got it sorted out last night, thanks for the response tho.
(you can disregard my other post too, that was solved with the same fix.)

If you check the "Configuration" tab for the tournaments component you'll see that you can define whether users have to be paid to be able to sign up for tournaments.
If this is set to "Yes", any member of a team who has not paid for the event is disregarded when counting the number of members.
I guess I should make this more transparent to the user. In the next version I might list all the teams the person is a leader of and list the reason why it is not eligible for the tournament (e.g. display "not enough members" or "enough members but A, B and C have not paid").
